The Twilight Zone “Black Leather Jackets”

Bikers are more dangerous than they seem to be sometimes.

Wait, what happened to yesterday’s entry?  Simple:  Paramount+ kept saying there was no internet connection in the middle of the episode as I was watching it.  That was absurd, especially as it was the only streaming service giving me problems.

As for this episode, well it has Shelley Fabares from The Donna Reed Show and (much later) Coach as a teenage girl with Denver “Uncle Jesse Duke” Pyle as her daddy.

Basic Premise:  Three bikers move into a suburban house, and problems come about.

Writer:  Earl Hamner Jr

Commentary:  Oh, what a bummer of an episode.  These three bikers show up, rent a house, and when the neighbors have trouble with their TV reception, the husband goes to ask them to stop, so they…do something to his mind and make him forget everything.

Huh, these bikers might be more than meets the eye!

Well, they are.  They’re aliens, and the youngest of them starts dating the neighbor’s teenage daughter.  See, the aliens, through their leader, believe that the human race is full of violent, awful people.  The only thing to do is, um, mass extinction of all life on Earth?  Whoa!  The human race might deserve that, but every other living thing?  That ain’t right.  Well, I’m sure that the one alien, learning that rotten humans are the minority, he’ll talk sense into the others.

The Twist:  Or, you know, he won’t.  Despite his best efforts, and alien disguised as a sheriff’s deputy arrests him, and the infected water sources will kill everything.

Wow.  That is a bummer.

What about Rod?  Well, he’s hanging out in the alien bikers’ rental home, but is he warning anyone?  NOOOOOO!!!!!

Rod sure can be a jerk sometimes.
