Tales From The Crypt “Til Death”

Well, I can’t say I was too surprised by this one…though I do question the voodoo depictions in this episode since that’s, like, an actual religion.

Pompous rich guy Logan (D.W. Moffett, one of those guys who gets around) finds himself smitten with rich, beautiful, and somewhat snobby Margaret, so he does what any sensible man would do: he goes to his voodoo priestess ex Psyche (Janet “original Aunt Viv” Hubert) for some magic potion.  He gets strict instructions to only give Margaret so many drops to make her his forever.

Then he gives her the whole bottle and she dies.

Always read the warning labels on medications.

Oh, but Margaret doesn’t stay dead.  She gets back up out of her grave.  Only she’s still dead and decaying, rapidly at that.  And she’s a little nuts.  She decapitates Logan’s doctor friend just because.  And when he tosses himself into a bog to drown, she pulls him out.  When he sets her on fire and pushes her in, she gets out again, always with less skin than she had before but still a desire to sleep with him.  Can she enjoy sex without sex organs?  I don’t know.

I can’t say I was too surprised by this point.  But then Logan kills himself…only to find Psyche revived him, tied to a bed, so Margaret, basically a skeleton with a tongue, can make love to him. That was unexpected.  Oh, and the dead doctor’s head is reanimated and in a small cage.  He doesn’t seem to mind.  That was really unexpected.

What about the Cryptkeeper?  He’s playing a bit as a fortune teller, with a live tarantula nearby.

Notable Names;  Moffett, Hubert, director Chris Walas was a make-up and effects guy who won an Oscar for The Fly, and that seems fairly appropriate for a make-up effects heavy episode.
