Curb Your Enthusiasm “Ben’s Birthday Party”

Is Larry obsessed with tits?  It sure looks that way.

He’s still the worst person to invite to a birthday party.

After being his usual Larry-self, Larry and Cheryl get an invite to Ben Stiller’s birthday party.  It’s two weeks late (Ben was waiting for Christine to get back into town), and he says it’s a “no-gift” situation.  How can Larry screw something like this up?

Lots of ways!

He can not sing “Happy Birthday” because he feels self-conscious about it.  He’s the only one.  Ben notices.

Despite the “no-gift” thing, he and Cheryl are the only ones not to bring a gift.  Ben notices.

Larry has a shishkabob stick in one hand and, while demonstrating his golf swing, hits Ben in the eye with the stick.  Fortunately, the injury is not serious.  Ben notices because it would be difficult if he didn’t.

So, that’s all the ways Larry insulted Ben Stiller.  Will that be all?  Of course not!  Much like when Jimmy ends up at Watson’s house, there’s always more chaos to be seen!

Jeff and Susie are there.  Susie has these bedazzled sweatshirts that Larry kinda insults.  He buys one later as a gift to Ben, post-party, and Ben then gives the shirt to Michael the blind man, and yes, Susie sees the blind man wearing it.

Oh, hey, the blind man is back!  He’s the rehearsal piano player for the musical Larry is in for some reason, and when he shows up with his average-looking girlfriend and claiming she’s a model, Larry asks him how he knows she’s beautiful, since he’s blind and all.  That causes Michael to break up with her and then to guilt Larry into being his personal assistant.

Blind Michael seems like he might be a Blind Jerk.  I’ll ask Jimmy later when he gets back from Watson’s house.

As it is, Larry also upset Susie when he joined a children’s game of “telephone” and says the message is “I like tits!”  He also sees a titmouse in his house, not a mouse.  And Jeff’s niece gets implants and puts Larry’s hands on her boobs for Cheryl to see, where she says that’s Larry extramarital sex.

You know, Larry’s getting a freebie was Cheryl’s idea originally.  Why is she getting upset about it?  Does she actually think Larry is likely to land a woman for a one-night stand?  Because even he doesn’t see that happening, I sure don’t, and I figure Cheryl maybe shouldn’t have OK’d this whole mess if she was gonna be that sensitive about it.
