Curb Your Enthusiasm “The Corpse-Sniffing Dog”

Season Three, Episode Seven

It occurred to me during this episode that, even as an investor, Larry has far too much authority to choose things about that restaurant he’s invested in.  Why is he selecting the replacement chef?  I mean, he picked a guy because this chef was also bald.  That has nothing to do with the quality of his cooking, Larry!

Actually, the problem here is Larry is a wee bit rude (shocker!) but he takes it upon himself to help Jeff get rid of a dog.  It’s a former corpse-sniffing dog that delayed the restaurant’s opening when he seemed to smell a corpse and only a bra that was buried under the floor.

So, can Larry find a new home for this dog?  He knows a couple that would love the dog.  Jeff doesn’t want the dog.  He’s allergic or something, but his young daughter loves the dog more than him.  It’s a good dog.  Comes when you use a dog whistle and everything.  What can Larry do?

Well, he can try to talk the little girl into giving up the dog, but he tries some wine while she’s drinking grape juice, so if you think Larry might accidentally get a child drunk when they get their glasses missed up, well, that’s something that happens, and it gives Susie a reason to yell at Larry again for his own stupidity.

By then, Larry has given the dog to another family, one where the kids also love the dog.  See, it’s a good dog.  Jeff just has a problem with the dog because Jeff is probably a bad father on some level.

Larry’s going back and forth between households to get the dog, move the dog, and finally try to apologize to the wife and mother who had the dog about whether or not she was owed a thank you for dinner when she doesn’t work and her husband used their joint credit card.  Yes, it was all a trick to get the dog back.  It didn’t quite work.  The dog whistle did.  Jeff’s daughter gets her dog back, Larry makes more enemies, and Jeff once again moves out of his house.

But hey, Larry did get that bald chef.
