Doctor Who “The Power Of The Daleks Part 5”

The Second Doctor. "The Power of the Daleks," Episode Five.

I watched a video on YouTube recently ranking all the official Doctors (not including the current one because the video came out before she did), and it made an interesting point about the Second Doctor, ranking him pretty high.  The point was, really, this was the first replacement Doctor, so if Patrick Troughton didn’t fire up the audience the right way, the show might have ended way back in 1966.

I can see that, but I think I’m about ready to see a live action version of the Second Doctor right about now.

And why shouldn’t I?  Daleks are mass producing.  Bragen got one to assassinate the Governor and took the top job, and no one is listening to either Polly or the Doctor when they keep insisting that trusting the Daleks to be good allies is a really bad idea.

I mean, a seriously, truly, monumentally bad idea.

Of course, Lesterson probably believes that now, but he’s insane.

Plus, his shutting off the Daleks’ power doesn’t work when they have storage batteries.  That just makes him more insane.

As it is, the Doctor got out with Quinn, AKA the one sane man in the Vulcan colony, and…

…well, there sure are a lot of Daleks running around causing trouble.

This is not going to end well for a lot of supporting characters that I wasn’t going to see again after this serial anyway.
