Lost In Space “Danger, Will Robinson”

Season One Finale.

Oh no!  Smith has done bad things!  Will the Robinsons escape the planet before it is destroyed?

What do you think?

Of course they will.  Sure, Smith has control of the Robot, and John and Don’s ship exploded, and things looked really bleak.  But it turns out John and Don are alive, Smith shows a level of humanity that she denied was real, and everyone gets off the planet before it goes boom.  Heck, even Victor comes back with the Resolute when the Robinsons’ Jupiter 2 runs out of fuel.  Heck, even the Robot goes back to Will when a second version shows up and tries to kill all the Robinsons.  John and Don are retrieved, the Robot sacrifices itself, and the Robinsons’ ship is zapped to…somewhere else where the symbol the Robot showed Will for “danger” is floating in space in front of them.  So, really, it took the entire first season to get the Robinsons to be truly lost in space.

So, how was season one?  It was fine.  I didn’t love it or hate it, and I will probably go back to season two when it comes back to Netflix in the future though if I don’t it won’t bother me that much.  The show lacked the campy style of the original, which may or may not be a good thing.  I’m not sure anyone could do that style of camp right anymore.  Let’s say eight out of ten moments where a kid doubts himself.

But now that I’m done with this show, I’m not sure what to do for next Friday.  I had been hoping the History Channel would have announced the second half of the Vikings season, but that hasn’t happened yet.  I need something short to slot in until Vikings comes back.  I’m sure I’ll think of something.
