Simpsons Did It!: “Treehouse Of Horror XXVII”

In which I have done 600 episode write-ups, plus that movie.

Well, here we are again, and it’s not only a Halloween anthology, it’s the 600th episode.  That means guest appearances from the likes of Drew Carey, Steely Dan member Donald Fagan, and Kelsey Grammer’s Sideshow Bob.

Among others.

How best to commemorate the 600th episode?  Well, start with the Simpsons avoiding a trap.

Was that Kang or Kodos?  Does it matter?  And hey, Homer still can’t remember Frank Grimes.

But what will we mock this time around?  Or see mocked?  We didn’t do the mocking.  The Simpsons did the mocking.

OK, here’s the deal, first up is a screwy thing involving water and child-on-child murder as Mr. Burns forces the kids of Springfield into a gladiatorial fight since he controls all the town’s water in a weird cross between The Hunger Game and Mad Max: Fury Road.

That one ends with Ralph Wiggum as a god.

Second, we have Lisa’s imaginary friend Rachel (guest star Sarah Silverman) brutally killing any of Lisa’s real-world friends and not even Homer’s imaginary pal Sergeant Sausage can stop her.  Lisa can, though.  I think I liked this one best.

The last one had Bart replacing Homer in a Kingsman parody.  You know, that well-known horror product Kingsman.

And then there was some singing from Harry Shearer’s wife Judith Owen.

I still don’t know what to say about anthologies…
