DC Comics really delivered early Saturday when they showed up at San Diego Comic Con with the first trailers for Wonder Woman and Justice League…and neither sucked; or had us lamenting the state of the DC Film universe.
Now it was Marvel’s turn to shine.
Marvel actually got the ball rolling Friday with the announcement that Ghost Rider would be joining the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Then early Saturday Marvel dropped the first trailer for the upcoming FX Series Legion:
Comic die-hards know that Legion is the son of Professor X, and they do drop the “M” word in the trailer, but it will be interesting to see if this finds an audience.
Moving on to the films of Marvel Studios, they started the proceedings by introducing their new logo that will appear on all Marvel Studios productions going forward.

Next up, a new trailer for November’s Dr. Strange:
While it caused Jenny to feint, I was underwhelmed. I’ll still be seeing it, but nothing about this trailer blew me away. To each their own.
In terms of official videos, that was about it. There was some Spider-Man: Homecoming footage shown, but I don’t believe that has been officially released. This concept art gives us a taste, and pretty much reveals who the big villain played by Micheal Keaton will be:
The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 were on hand and some footage was shown, but again, if you weren’t in attendance you will have to wait to see it.
Surprising as it is to say, I think DC won this round. While the above and the official announcement of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel have made for an exciting couple of days, I don’t think they top DC’s two brand new trailers.
Even though I like Benedict Cumberbatch — I just can’t get excited for Doctor Strange.
Hell, I’m not “excited” by anything Marvel showed us last week.
No, it’s not because I’m a DC girl. I know nothing about this character from Legion. I know almost nothing about Ghost Rider. New logo for Marvel is “okay”, and concept art for Spidey is cool but not “exciting”.
To me. Let’s remember that.
