Jeremy Irons is at that age where, clearly, he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Why else would he basically say why Batman V Superman, a movie he was in, was maybe not very good.
Yes, in a wide-ranging interview with the Daily Mail, Irons basically says the movie was, in his words, “overstuffed” and deserved the bad reviews it got.
That seems about right in many respects.
He also says the next one, Justice League, will be “simpler”.
Let’s see if I have this straight: Batsoup with all the characters it was juggling was “overstuffed,” but put everybody and a few others together and it’s “simpler”? Yeah, that sounds about right for a Zach Snyder movie.
You can read the interview yourself from the link, and he has a lot to say about a lot of things, but saying a movie he appeared in deserved the bad reviews is not something I think you’ll be hearing from anyone else that worked on that thing. At least, not publicly.
