YouTube Selection: ScreenPrism’s “The Dark Knight: The Only Post 9/11 Noir”

Noir is a film genre that deals with cynicism and morally gray heroes.  There haven’t been too many of them in recent years.

But the women at ScreenPrism think there’s a good option for one:  The Dark Knight.

As the narrator for this video essay explains, noir reflects how people might be feeling after grand social upheavals.  So, why haven’t there been more since 9/11?  Well, they have a theory, and it involves Batman.  Let’s see what they have to say about the subject in the video below.
