The "Game Of Thrones" News We All Pretty Much Expected

In news that should be, like, no surprise at all to fans of both George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire  novels and the HBO series Game of Thrones, one of the producers of said show has pretty much acknowledged that the show will give away the end of the books before the books get there, which at Martin’s current pace will probably be around the year 2525, if man is still alive, if woman can survive.

Vanity Fair quotes producer/creator/caterer/horse wrangler/man married to actress Amanda Peet/Olympic rocketsled champ Dan Benioff as follows:

Luckily, we’ve been talking about this with George for a long time, ever since we saw this could happen, and we know where things are heading. And so we’ll eventually, basically, meet up at pretty much the same place where George is going; there might be a few deviations along the route, but we’re heading towards the same destination. I kind of wish that there were some things we didn’t have to spoil, but we’re kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. The show must go on. . .and that’s what we’re going to do.

Yeah, so even the people making the show are pretty much saying they know everything is supposed to end and they’re headed that way.  Well, if something happens to Martin, at least we’ll all know how Tyrion remakes Westeros into a Democratic Republic while Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen rock out on a pile of White Walker corpses and the dragons feast on Cersi, with Ser Pounce crowned king-of-the-seven-kingdoms and Arya is the only True Stark left after marrying her distant cousin Tony.  Sorry, fans.
